Chapter 4 - The Arrival of the Titan

The heavy mahogany front doors of the mansion didn't just open—they were violently slammed backward against the marble foyer walls with a deafening boom that shook the chandelier overhead.

Four tall, muscular men dressed in dark charcoal suits and tactical earpieces marched into the house, immediately securing the hallway and the entrances to the study.

Behind them walked an elderly man in a bespoke navy pinstripe suit, carrying a silver-topped walking cane.

Despite his seventy years, Edward Ellison walked with the terrifying, absolute authority of a king entering a conquered province. His silver hair was swept back flawlessly, his eyes like two pieces of polished flint, cold enough to freeze the blood in a man's veins.

Beside him walked three high-powered corporate attorneys carrying leather litigation briefcases, followed by two armed private security details and a personal medical team in black uniforms.

"Claire," my father called out, his deep, resonant voice echoing through the silent mansion.

"In the study, Dad," I called back.

My father stepped into the room. His sharp eyes scanned the scene in less than two seconds: the spilled scotch, the shattered glass, Vanessa cowering in my stolen robe, Adrian trembling against the bar cart, and the leather riding belt lying on the coffee table.

Then, his gaze landed on my left hand, where blood was still seeping through the linen napkin, and the torn, bruised silk on the shoulder of my dress.

The temperature in the room plummeted into absolute zero.

My father didn't shout. He didn't swear. He simply stopped walking, resting both hands on the head of his silver cane, his eyes locking onto Adrian.

"You," my father said, the single word carrying the weight of a death sentence.

Adrian fell to his knees.

The proud, arrogant CEO of Mercer Dynamics, the man who had stood over me five minutes ago boasting about his absolute power, completely collapsed onto the floor.

"Mr. Ellison..." Adrian sobbed, his hands raised in a pathetic gesture of mercy. "Mr. Ellison, please! It was a misunderstanding! I didn't know! I swear to God I didn't know she was your daughter!"

My father didn't even acknowledge Adrian's words. He turned to the chief of his medical team.

"Examine my daughter immediately," Edward Ellison commanded quietly. "Document every bruise, every cut, and every drop of blood. Prepare a certified forensic medical report for the State District Attorney."

"Yes, Mr. Ellison," the lead doctor said, stepping forward with a sterile medical kit and gently guiding me to a soft armchair.

My father then looked at the senior attorney standing at his right hand—Arthur Sterling, the most feared corporate litigation lawyer in the country.

"Arthur," my father said softly. "What is the current status of Mercer Dynamics?"

Arthur opened his briefcase, pulling out a tablet. "As of two minutes ago, sir, Mercer Dynamics has lost eighty-two percent of its market capitalization. Their primary board of directors has just issued a unanimous emergency vote stripping Adrian Mercer of his CEO position to protect themselves from criminal liability. He is no longer an officer of his own company."

"And the mortgage on this estate?" my father asked.

"The title of this mansion was held under a personal collateral loan issued by First City Bank," Arthur replied smoothly. "Ellison Holdings purchased the note ninety seconds ago. The property is now one hundred percent owned by your daughter, Claire."

My father finally walked over to Adrian, stopping inches from where he was grovelling on the floor.

"You have five minutes to get out of my daughter's house," my father told him, his voice terrifyingly calm. "Without your shoes. Without your watch. Without a single cent of her money."
