Chapter 11 - The Unbroken Dawn

One year later.
The morning sun filtered softly through the white linen curtains of the master bedroom in the east wing.
The old medical equipment, the wheel ramps, and the locked steel medicine cabinets were completely gone, replaced by warm hardwood furniture, soft rugs, and shelves filled with books and family photos.
Adeline sat in a wide rocking chair near the sunlit window, holding a sleeping two-month-old baby girl wrapped in a soft yellow blanket.
The door opened quietly, and Nico walked in carrying two warm cups of coffee. He wore a casual white shirt and jeans, looking relaxed, healthy, and deeply content.
He set the cups on the side table, kneeling beside the rocking chair, resting his hand gently over the baby's small head.
"Is Sophia sleeping?" Nico whispered softly.
"Just fell asleep," Adeline smiled, leaning over to kiss his cheek. "She has your dark hair."
"And your quiet stubbornness," Nico laughed quietly, touching the baby's tiny fingers as they curled around his thumb.
He looked around the bright, warm room, then turned his gaze back to his wife and daughter.
A year ago, he had been trapped on the cold floor of his foyer, stripped of his dignity, poisoned by traitors, and surrounded by enemies who believed he was broken beyond repair.
Now, standing on his own two feet, surrounded by true love and a family built on trust, he knew that the nightmare was permanently over.
Nico leaned in, kissing Adeline softly on the lips, then pressing a tender kiss onto his daughter's forehead.

"Thank you, Adeline," Nico whispered softly into the quiet morning air. "For giving me back my life."
Adeline rested her head against his chest, listening to the strong, steady beating of his heart—a heart that was unbroken, strong, and finally home.
