Chapter 15 - THE UNBREAKABLE OATH (THE TWIST ENDING)The sun dipped below the Boston skyline, painting the harbor in streaks of brilliant crimson and gold. The grand estate was quiet, save for the soft hum of the evening breeze rustling through the courtyard ivy.

Inside the master nursery, Elena tucked little Mia into her quilted bed, whispering a gentle lullaby until the child’s breathing grew slow and even. She kissed the toddler’s forehead, turned off the bedside lamp, and stepped quietly out into the hallway.

Waiting in the dim amber light of the corridor was Lorenzo. He stood tall, silent, and imposing as always, but his expression was entirely stripped of the cold armor he wore for the outside world.

"She’s asleep," Elena whispered, leaning back against the wooden doorframe, suddenly feeling the weight of the past six months catch up to her.

"Good," Lorenzo said softly, stepping closer until she could feel the steady warmth radiating from him. He reached out, his calloused fingers gently brushing a stray lock of hair from her cheek—a gesture so tender it made her breath catch in her throat. "You don't have to clean the floors anymore, Elena. You never did."

Elena looked up into his dark, penetrating eyes, searching for the ruthless mafia don the city feared, but finding only a man who had chosen to protect the innocent when the rest of the world looked away.

"What am I supposed to do now?" she asked softly, a playful smile touching the corners of her lips.

Lorenzo smiled back—a rare, devastatingly genuine smile that transformed his entire face. He held out his arm, offering his elbow with old-world gallantry.

"Help me run an empire," he said.

And as Elena slid her hand through his arm, walking beside the most feared man in Boston toward the grand staircase where a little girl’s three tiny fingers had changed the course of history forever, the dark waters of the harbor outside hummed with an eternal, unbreakable truth: in the kingdom of shadows, love was the only weapon that could never be conquered.
